Slovakia Launches a Groundbreaking Project on the Future of Artificial Intelligence

A consortium of major technology companies, universities, and research institutions from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Germany is launching the international project “InnovAIte Slovakia: Illuminating Pathways for AI-Driven Breakthroughs”.

Bratislava, June 13 (OTS)

The goal of the project is to create a dynamic innovation ecosystem in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), which will significantly push the boundaries of its practical use.

The project is being implemented within the Transformational and Innovation Consortia call, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic, and runs from April 2025 to September 2027.

The main project implementer is Gratex International, which leads the consortium consisting of leading Slovak, Czech, and German universities, research institutions, and technology companies, including:

Asseco Central Europe, CANEX, Optima Ideas, Vysoká škola báňská, Technická univerzita Ostrava, Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz GmbH, Slovenská technická univerzita v Bratislave, Univerzita Komenského v Bratislave, Trenčianska univerzita Alexandra Dubčeka v Trenčíne, Centrum vedecko-technických informácií Slovenskej republiky, and Trenčiansky samosprávny kraj

The InnovAIte Slovakia project focuses on:

1) Developing innovative AI solutions that contribute to improved energy efficiency of buildings

2) Enhancing transport safety through video analysis

3) Automating software development

4) Digitalizing processes in the insurance sector

An important part of the project is the development of functional prototypes with high potential for use and application in real conditions.

In addition to technological innovations, the consortium also emphasizes:

1) Education in the field of AI

2) Talent support

3) Startup incubation

4) Ethical, environmentally sustainable, and socially beneficial use of artificial intelligence

EU-Funded Innovation for the Future

The InnovAIte Slovakia project received support from the Recovery Plan in the amount of € 14,84 million, with total expenditures reaching € 17,86 million.

The consortium thus confirms its leading role in the field of innovation and digital transformation, with a focus on international cooperation, sustainability, and societal impact.
